Spellery is a daily word game. This policy explains what information the game stores, why, and who it is shared with. The short version is that Spellery keeps only what it needs to save your puzzle progress, and it does not use advertising or third-party tracking.

Who we are

What we store

When you play, Spellery saves your game data so your progress is there when you return:

• The words you have found, your score, and whether you finished each puzzle.
• Your current and longest daily streaks, and the date you last played.
• An anonymous account identifier. On your first visit Spellery creates a silent, anonymous account (a random ID) so it can save your progress without asking you to sign up. This account holds no personal information about you.

If you sign in with Google

Signing in is optional. It links your existing anonymous account to a Google identity so your progress follows you across devices. When you sign in, Spellery receives your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account and uses them only to identify and label your account inside the game. Spellery does not post anything to your Google account or access anything beyond this basic profile.

Information stored on your device

Spellery uses your browser's local storage to remember your preferences (such as theme, sound, and board settings) and to keep a local copy of your progress and sign-in session. This stays on your device. Spellery does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not track you across other websites.

Service providers

Spellery relies on a small number of providers to run the game:

• Supabase hosts the database and authentication that store your account and puzzle progress.
• Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website. As part of serving pages it processes standard technical request data, such as your IP address and browser type. It also provides our privacy-first traffic analytics, which count page views without cookies and without identifying or following individual visitors.
• Google provides the optional sign-in described above, and only if you choose to use it.

These providers process data on our behalf to operate the service. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

Data retention and your choices

We keep your account and progress for as long as your account exists. You can clear your local data at any time through your browser settings. To request access to, or deletion of, the data tied to your account, email [email protected] and we will handle your request.

Children

Spellery is a general-audience word game and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Spellery after an update means you accept the revised policy.
